Explanation:

They really don't say the number in the book, but i would have to say composite, since the groups are probably even and they have the same amount of players. It is not prime because prime is usually odd numbers, and the groups are split evenly, so it would be composite.

You can't multiply 2 numbers to get 7 unless it's itself and 1.
