Is AP Chemistry a good class to take in Junior year?

It depends on what kind of senior year you want to have. If you’re cool with late nights studying and plenty of homework on weekends, then there’s no reason not to! I believe the class is passable by anyone who puts in the appropriate amount of time, but you have to be willing to do it.

I took the class sophomore year, and personally didn’t think it was too difficult. The math doesn’t go past Algebra 2, and the homework usually took 1–1.5 hours. But if you’re looking for a chill senior year this isn’t the class for you. You really have to concentrate in class to avoid missing something crucial, and there are certain units that need more concentration than others.

Ultimately, if you think you’d like it, then try it. I enjoyed the class even though it was hard, and now I don’t have to worry about it in college.
