Is the set {5,6,8} closed under subtraction of whole numbers?Why or why not.

No, it's not

Explanation:

A set is closed under a particular operation if the results of said operation still belong to the set.

So, this set is not closed under subtraction because if we take two of its elements, for example 5 and 8, the result of their subtraction 8-5=3 doesn't belong to the set.
