1 drop per second. 60 drops per min. 60 min in a hour. 24 hours in a day. 365 days in a year. If that helps.

ANSWER:

A faucet drips at a rate of 1 drop per every second.Number of liters wasted are 1576.6 liters.

SOLUTION:

Given, a faucet drips at a rate of 1 drop per every second.

We need to find how many liters of water are wasted per year.

Now, let us find how many seconds are there for an year.

1 year = 365 days[ consider non – leap year]

= 365
* 24 hours

= 365
* 24
* 60 minutes

= 365
* 24
* 60
* 60 seconds

= 31,536,000 seconds

Therefore number of drops wasted per year = 1
* 31,536,000 seconds

No. of drops = 31,536,000. But we are asked how many liters.

No. of liters =
\frac{\text {number of drops}}{20,000} [when 1 liter = 20,000drops]

\text { No. of liters }=(31,536,000)/(20,000)

No. of liters = 1576.6 liters

Hence, number of liters wasted are 1576.6 liters.
