I’m assuming this is a multiple choice question in which you did not include the options, lol. If this question is referring to what I think it is, the answer would be that Nixon had shown his mastery of television in his 1952 “Checkers” speech, where he used a televised address to debunk slush-fund allegations, and secure his vice presidential slot by talking about his pet dog, Checkers.
