Orion is constructing a rectangular box. The base of the box is a piece of wood with an area of 90 square inches. The volume of the box needs to have a volume of 1,080 cubic inches.

What is the height of the box in inches?

The volume of a rectangular prism is the product of the three dimensions.

The width and length give the base area, which is 90.

So, if we multiply the base area and the height, we get the volume:

w\cdot l\cdot h = V \implies h = (V)/(w\cdot l)

We know that V=1080 and w*l (i.e. the base area) is 90. So, we have

h=\drac{1080}{90}=12
