Answer: 2 batches

Explanation:

I do this a bit more simple then it might be in a high school, but here’s how you get the answer.

There was 7 1/3 barrels of raisins yesterday, so we can turn that into an improper fraction (22/3)

Then you turn 3 2/3 into an improper fraction

(11/3)

The denominator is the same, so you don’t need to convert.

22/3 and 11/3

11 + 11 = 22 (you can do this in your head if you want) so there was two batches made.

Hope I helped a bit/ made things simpler ^^

Answer:

2 batches

Explanation:

You can estimate the number of batches as ...

(7 barrels)/(3 barrels/batch) ≈ 2 batches

Then you can check to see if it is actually 2 batches:

(3 2/3) × 2 = 6 4/3 = 7 1/3 . . . . . . yes, it is exactly 2 batches
