Area of triangle = 156

Explanation:

Area of a rectangle is width times length.

Area of a triangle is half the base times the height.

Therefore:

4 (2x + 3) = 1/2 (6) (3x – 2)

8x + 12 = 9x – 6

x = 18

So the area of the triangle is:

A = 1/2 (6) (3 × 18 – 2)

A = 156
