Here is the answers and solutions for your set of problems.

1. 3x - 5 = 22

i. Add 5 to 22 = 27

ii. Divide 27 by 3 = 9

Answer = 9

2. 2k - 6 + 3k = 9

i. Add +2k and +3k (5k - 6 = 9)

ii. Add 9 and 6 = 15

iii. Divide 15 by 3 = 5

Answer = 5

Answer:

1. 3x-5=22

+5

3x=27

divide both sides by 3

x=9

2. 2k-6+3k=9

5k (combine like terms) +6

5k=15

divde by 5

k=3

3. 2(4x-3)=9x+4

distribute= 8x-6=9x+4

-9x & +6

-x=10

divide by -1 (that's what x is essentially in that form)

x=-10

4. -84=7p

divide by 7

p=-12
