Answer: The general formula for exponential sequence or GP is

GP = arn-1 , ie ar raised to the power of n-1 where a is the first term , r is the common ratio and n is the number of terms. Now to find the 14th term we first find the common ratio (r) by dividing the second term by the first term of third by second term.

r = -10/5

=. -2.

Since n is 14-1 = 13. and a is 5
we now put those values in the formula to find the 14th term

T14 = ar^n-1

= 5 x (-2)^13

= 5 x -8192

=. -40,960

There the 14th term of the GP sequence

= -40,960
