The following label was found on a bottle of liquid hydrocarbons in the laboratory of Dr. Ima Turkey following his disappearance under mysterious circumstances. Although the name defines a structure unambiguously, it is not the correct IUPAC substitutive name. Give the correct name for the compound. Details count; pay attention to hyphens, commas, and spelling.

2-ethyl-2,4,6-trimethylheptane

If you draw the given compound you would see that the longest chain have 8 carbons, so the compound is octone not heptane.

Now you give indices for each carbon atom involved in the principal carbon chain in such a way the substituents are heaving the lowest number.

The correct name of the compound is:

2,4,6,6-tetramethyl-octane

In the attached figure you may see the drawing of the molecule.
