An air traffic controller is tracking two planes. To start, Plane A is at an altitude of 790 meters , and plane B was at an altitude of 1142 meters. Plane A losing altitude at 14 meters per second, and Plane B is losing altitude at 22 meters per second

From the question we are told

Plane A starts at altitude 790

Plane B starts at altitude 1142

Plane A losing altitude at 14 meters per second

Plane B is losing altitude at 22 meters per second

Generally the altitude of both plane is given by

Plane A=
790-14x

Plane B=
1142-22x

Therefore when they exist in the same altitude


790-14x =
1142-22x


-350=-8x


(-350)/(-8) =x

Therefore


x=4.375
