r = -2.5

Explanation:

0.25r - 0.125 + 0.5r = 0.5 + r

Simplify.

0.75r - 0.125 = 0.5 + r

Switch r with -0.125.

0.75r - r = 0.5 + 0.125

- 0.25r = 0.625

Send -0.25 to the other side.

r = - (0.625)/(0.25)

r = -2.5

Hope this helped!

0.25r - 0.125 + 0.5r = 0.5 + r

Step 1) Put all of the like terms together, our like terms in this equation are, 0.25r and 0.5r

0.25r + 0.5r = 0.75r

now our equation looks like, -0.125 + 0.75r = 0.5 + r

Step 2) Get all the r's to one side, so well subtract 0.75r from r which equals, 0.25r

now our equation looks like, -0.125 = 0.5 + 0.25r

Step 3) isolate the r, to do this we'll subtract the 0.5 from both sides and out equation will look like, −0.625 = 0.25r

Step 4) Divide both sides by 0.25 to get r by itself, our final equation looks like this, −2.5 = r
