We can figure out the slope by picking a "Pretty point" as my teacher called it. Find a point that runs perfectly into the corner of a square, like at (0,1) Then find the nearest point like that, which is (1,-2)

Notice how, when we move further to the right, the line goes down. That is how we know it is a negative slope. Draw a line between the points, and do "Rise over run" to find the slope.

In our case, the Rise is -3, and the run is 1. (Down 3, right 1)

So the slope is -3/1, or just -3.

Last step is to see if the line runs through (2,5) or (2,-5)

Just look at each coordinate, and see if the line runs through that point.

In your case, the line does not run through (2,5) and it does run through (2,-5)

So, C is the answer.
