Greg is selling t-shirts for the baseball team as a fund raiser. The total amount earned for the team, y, is proportional to the number of t-shirts, x, Greg sells. The team earns $7.50 for each sold t-shirt. Which equation represents the total amount Greg earns for the team?

The answer is 7.50X =y because he sells each shirt for 7.50 than you times that to the amount of shirts he sold but we don’t know that amount so X will stand for the amount of shirts sold than 7.50 times X = Y and Y = the amount earned

Answer:

y = $7.50x

y (total amount earned) is the dependent variable and x (number of t-shirts Greg sells) is independent.

y = kx → y = $7.50x
