So lets do B first.

So what's 20% more than 400? We basically do the same math here that we would to calculate a tip at a restaurant.

400 * .2

(The .2 represents 20% in decimal form)

= 80

So 20% of 400 is 80, but we have to add it back to get 20% more than 400.

That's 480.

Now we find a, which is 20% less than b.

So whats 20% of 480

480 * .2 = 96

Now we subtract that from 480 to get 20% less.

480 - 96 = 384.

So now, we do B - A.

480 - 384 = 96
