I really dislike these algebra problems pretending to be geometry.
The angles x and x+68 are supplementary angles from a transversal of parallels, so they add to 180 degrees. The angles x and <1> are congruent angles, vertical angles from a pair of crossing lines.
x + (x+68) = 180
2x = 112
x = 56 degrees
angle<1`> = x
