The 26 students in Mr. Welch’s class read a total of 65 books last month. The 24 students in Ms. Goldwasser’s class read a total of 66 books. On average, how many more books did each student in Ms. Goldwasser’s class read than each student in Mr. Welch’s class? Explain. ( Remember on average. )

According to the formula, each student in Mr. Goldwasser's class read


(66)/(24) = 2.75

books on average, and each student in Mr. Welch's class read


(65)/(26) = 2.5

books on average.
