A source can be cited in four different ways. Citations are used to refer to a source document in the text or assignment. Direct quotation from source, paraphrasing and citing the whole document are different methods for citing the document.But in academic writing your work should be written in your own words and overuse of quotation must be avoided. The most common citation styles are APA format and MLA format.
