62% means 62 out of 100 students are girls, that means that 38% are boys then, or that 38 out of 100 are boys, how would that be in a fraction?

\bf \cfrac{\stackrel{\textit{boys}}{38}}{\underset{\textit{out of 100}}{100}}\implies \cfrac{~~\begin{matrix} 2 \\[-0.7em]\cline{1-1}\\[-5pt]\end{matrix}~~\cdot 19}{~~\begin{matrix} 2 \\[-0.7em]\cline{1-1}\\[-5pt]\end{matrix}~~\cdot 50}\implies \cfrac{19}{50}

38% of the students are boys because 100 minus 62 is 38 and percents are based off of 100s
