the density of solid a is 2.70 a 6.86 g sample of solid a is transferred to a graduated cylinder containing 5.00 mL of water, and a 7.11 g sample of solid b is transferred to a graduated cylinder, also containing 5.00 mL of water. Which solid sample displaces the larger volume of water? by how many milliliters?

Answer:

The second solid displace more water, and the difference among this two solids is 0.09 ml

Step-by-step explanation:

Considering that density is 2.70 for both solids. Density formula is =m/V.

1.- First we are going to calculate the volume that is displace in each solid considering same density.

2.- If D = m/v so V= m/D

3.- solid 1 = 6.86 g/2.70 = 2.54 ml of water that is displaced

solid 2 = 7.11 g/2.70 = 2.63 ml of water that is displaced

4.- Do the subs traction of both solids: 2.63 ml - 2.54 ml = 0.09 ml
