Explanation:

Let the three consecutive numbers be;

First number = a

Second number = a + 1

Third number = a + 2

Three times the smaller number is fourteen more than the largest.

i.e 3a = (a + 2) + 14

3a = a + 16

3a - a = 16

2a = 16

a = 16 ÷ 2 = 8

So the first number is 8 and the next two consecutive numbers are 9 and 10.
