Answer:

m = 6

Explanation:

Given

(1)/(3) m -
(2)/(3) = 1
(1)/(3)

Add
(2)/(3) to both sides

(1)/(3) m = 2

Multiply both sides by 3 to clear the fraction on the left side

m = 3 × 2 = 6

Need to make 1 1/3 into improper fraction.

1 1/3= 4/3 ( Multiply the whole number and denominator together) . 1*3= 3 . Add 3 with the numerator. 3+1=4

1/3m-2/3= 4/3

Move -2/3 to the other side. Sign changes from -2/3 to +2/3.

1/3m-2/3+2/3= 4/3+2/3

1/3m= 6/3

Divide by 3 for 6/3

6/3= 2 , 3/3= 1

1/3m= 2

Multiply by 3/1

1/3(3/1)m= 3/1(2)

Cross out both of the threes.

m= 6
