√(3x+4) = - 2
√(x+4) ( divide both sides by - 2 )


√(3x+4) =
√(x+4)

Square both sides

3x + 4 = x + 4 ( subtract x from both sides )

2x + 4 = 4 ( subtract 4 from both sides )

2x = 0 ⇒ x = 0

Substitute x = 0 into either of the 2 functions to find y

g( 0 ) = - 2
√(0+4) = - 2
√(4) = - 2 × 2 = - 4

Solution is (0, - 4 )
