Reverse transcriptase PCR (RT-PCR):

RT-PCR is a type of PCR that involves the reverse transcription of an RNA molecule into a DNA molecule. The complementary DNA is produced from this technique and later specific DNA targets are amplified by the PCR technique. Two main types of PCR are End-point RT-PCR and real-time RT-PCR.

Real-time quantitative PCR (qPCR):

This PCR is also known as quantitative PCR. The quanitity and the amount of PCR product can easily be determined by this type of PCR. This PCR uses fluorescent dye to ontain the amount of the PCR. This PCR is carried out after the reverse transcriptase PCR.
