A. Place the compass on point A.Open the compass to a point between point P and point B

Explanation:

With the compass at point A and opened to a point between point P and B draw an arc above and below the line AB.

While not adjusting the compass radius, place it at point B and draw an arc above and below the line AB to cut the other arcs drawn when the compass was at point A

Using a straight edge, draw a line connecting the point of intersection of the arcs both top and bottom of line AB passing through point P.

This line will be perpendicular to BA and passing through P.
