Hi !!

"For what it's worth" is a song which was written by Stephen Stills because of a clash between the police and young people from the hippy counterculture in California, in Los Angeles,Hollywood on the Sunset Strip in 1962.

Because the Sunset Trip had become a place where young people used to meet in clubs, the neighborhood began to protest.

A huge protest march was held on November 12th, 1962, clubs had to close.

People were arrested.

Afterwards this song became a protest song against the Vietnam War.

Answer: the song "For What It's Worth" shows conflict between younger and older generations. It also shows the conflict between those who wanted America to go to war overseas and those who protested the action.
