Answer:

3 1/2 = 7/2 (write as a mixed number)

7/2 - 1/3 = ?( you need more flour, so subtract what you have from what you need. to subtract you need to find the least common denominator)

21/6 - 2/6

19/6 cups of flour is what you need.

or 3 1/6 cup if it needs to be converted back into a mixed fraction
