Answer:

The answer is 28.

Explanation:

First, we do 3 + 5 = 8 -- Because of PEMDAS, they say that parenthesis () comes first, from left to right.

Second, we do 8 - 1 = 7 -- Because we do operations from left to right.

Third, we multiply 7 by 2 (or 4 to make it easier because there is the commutative property of multiplication).

If we multiply 7 by 2 and then another 2, we get 28. We could also multiply 7 by 4 because 2 x 2 = 4.

I hope this helps! Please comment anything if it doesn't make sense.

\huge\text{Hey there!}

\mathsf{2 \bullet (3 + 5 - 1) \bullet 2}

\mathsf{= 2 * (3 + 5 - 1) * 2}

\mathsf{= 2(3 + 5 - 1)(2)}

=
\mathsf{2(8 - 1)(2)}

\mathsf{= 2(7)(2)}

\mathsf{= 14(2)}

\mathsf{= 28}
