For this case we must find the x-intersepts values of the following equation:

y = -4x ^ 2 + 8x + 12

Doing y = 0 we have:

0 = -4x ^ 2 + 8x + 12

Dividing between -4 on both sides of the equation:

x ^ 2-2x-3 = 0

We factor, we look for two numbers that when multiplied by -3 and when added by -2. These are -3 and 1:

-3 + 1 = -2\\-3 * 1 = -3\\(x-3) (x + 1) = 0

Thus, the x-intercepts values are:

x_ {1} = 3\\x_ {2} = - 1

Answer:

x_ {1} = 3\\x_ {2} = - 1
