Answer:

Because of emotional reasons.

Step-by-step explanation:

Intimate partner violence is any kind of violence that happens between two people in an intimate relationship with each other.

It can be physical, verbal, emotional, sexual or financial violence and it can appear harmless at first as many partners in a relationship argue or disagree.

However, more than half of IPV cases go unreported or the allegations are withdrawn after a short time. It happens because of two reasons: people are ashamed to report their partner because they have feelings for them and they believe their partners would change and it was just a selected accident. Emotional reasons prevent the victims from reporting the abuse and they prefer to suffer in silence. One point to consider as well is the fact that many victims are afraid to report their partner fearing farther abuse, or they are convinced nobody would believe them anyway.
