Erin’s softball team has five weekend tournaments that are out-of-state and will require long-distance travel. The team will travel by bus for most of these trips, leaving Friday at noon and returning Sunday around 10:00 PM. Question: Provide a detailed list of the practical foods and/or beverages Erin should bring with her on these trips, making sure to take into consideration how travel may affect your food choices and access to storage/preparation. Next to each food/fluid option describe why you are suggesting it (i.e., how does it fit into an appropriate sports diet for this athlete?)

Answer: The training diet should be based high-nutrient foods (cereals, fruit, vegetables, low fat dairy products, lean meat and poultry, fish, nuts, seeds, legumes etc.) and only small amounts of low nutrient foods (soft drink, confectionary, cakes, biscuits, fried foods etc.)

Explanation: Here is a list of snacks that can be eaten before a competition

1.- Peanut Butter. Peanut butter is easy to pack and can be put on anything from sandwiches to apples to celery to bananas.

2.- Eggs.

3.- Pasta.

4.- Grilled Chicken Sandwich + Salad.

5.- Granola.

6.- Dark Chocolate. ( not a lot )

7.- Dill Pickles.
