For this case we have by definition, that the equation of a line in the slope-intersection form is given by:

y = mx + b

Where:

m: It's the slope

b: It is the cutoff point with the y axis

To find the slope two points are needed through which the line passes:

m = \frac {y2-y1} {x2-x1}\\m = \frac {8-8} {- 5 - (- 2)} = \frac {0} {- 5 + 2} = \frac {0} {- 3} = 0

THE equation is of the form:

y = b

We substitute the y coordinate of the point (2,8)

8 = b

Then,
y = 8

Answer:

y = 8
