The first thing to factorising this expression is to find the greatest common factor (GCF). For 8x² and 6x the gcf is 2x. So now we divide the 8x² and 6x by the 2x. Which comes out to 4x and 3, these will be inside the parentheses.

So it'll factorise to
2x(4x+3) and remember when we are dividing with exponents we subtract the exponents. So
(8x^2)/(2x) we will divide the coefficients together that'll be 4 and now for the exponents the 2 on the x² minus the 1 on the x will equal 1 so it'll be just x we don't place a one or anything.
