a person walks up a stair, then goes down a stair. they walk back up 2 stairs, then walk down 2 stairs. they walk up 3 stairs, then all the way back down. they do this until they go up 10 stairs, then down 10 stairs. how could this be represented as an arithmetic equation?

an = 2(2)^(n-1)

Explanation:

Sorry for the confusion, it would be a geometric sequence an = 2(2)^(n-1).

an = a1(rate of change)^(n-1)

the starting is 2

the rate is multiplying by 2

so it would be an = 2(2)^(n-1)
