Answer:

option B

Explanation:

Paul bought 6 pounds of hamburger. He used 3 1/ 2 pounds to make burgers. Paul says he has 2 1/ 2 pounds of hamburger left.

To find out pounds of hamburger left we subtract 3 1/2 from 6 pounds

3 (1)/(2) =(3*2+1)/(2)=(7)/(2)

Now we subtract the fraction from 6

6 - (7)/(2) = (12)/(2) - (7)/(2) =(5)/(2)

Now we convert 5/2 into mixed fraction

(5)/(2) = 2(1)/(2)

Paul's answer is correct. because when we add
3(1)/(2) + 2(1)/(2) we will get 6
