-We can see it. We use visible light to see everything around us, with our eyes at least.

-Visible light has a lower energy than UV light. UV light is what gives us sunburn.

For both:

-They are both forms of electromagnetic radiation (light). They are simply at different energy values and wavelengths. Our eyes can only see the visible part of the spectrum, hence why it is called the "visible" part.

-They are both emitted by the Sun. The Sun lets off many types of radiation.

For UV light:

-UV light is very high in energy relative to visible light. Visible light doesn't give us sunburn, but UV light will. This is what we use in tanning beds.

-UV light cannot be seen with our eyes because it does not fall into the same category as visible light.
