first add the whole numbers so 3+2+2+2+1+2=12

then we are left with the fractions. 11/4 divides into 2 with a remainder of three so we add it to the top.

From here we have 2/4+3/4+3/4+1/4+3/4

add them together and we get 12/4=3. Then add back our whole numbes to get 12+3=15
