Answer:

The correct answer is x = 8

Explanation:

Points to remember :-

Angle sum property

Sum of angles of any triangle is 180°

From the figure we can see an isosceles triangle ABC

AB = BC

<A = <C = 69°

To find the value of m<B

<B = 180 - (<A + <C)

= 180 - (69 + 69)

= 180 - 138 = 42°

To find the value of x

<B = 42

5x + 2 = 42

5x = 42 - 2 = 40

x = 40/5 = 8

Therefore x = 8

Answer:

x = 8

Explanation:

Given in the question an isosceles triangle, in which the side AB and BC are similar so,

69 = (9y - 3)

69 + 3 = 9y

72 = 9y

y = 72/9

y = 8

Now as we know that sum of triangle is 180°, we will add all 3 angles and equal them to 180°

69 + (9(8) - 3) + 5x+2 = 180

69 + ((72 - 3) + (5x + 2) = 180

69 + 69 + 2 + 5x = 180

140 + 5x = 180

5x = 180 - 40

5x = 40

x = 40/5

x = 8
