The formula for area of a trapezoid is:

(b1 + b2) • h • 1/2

So let’s plug in the numbers:

(8.6+12.9) • 6.4 • 1/2

21.5 • 6.4 • 1/2

137.6 • 1/2 = 68.8

The answer is 68.8 square centimeters.

Hope this helps!

Let's start by writing out our formula.

A = 1/2(b1 + b2) x h

As we can see, base 1 is 8.6cm, and base 2 is 12.9cm. We can also see that the height is 6.4cm, so all we need to do know is plug in what we know.

A = 1/2(8.6 + 12.9) x 6.4

A = 68.8cm²

Hope this helps!
