Todd's cube has an edge that measures 5 inches. Kara's cube has an edge of 3 inches. If Kara's cube was stacked on top of Todd's cube, what would be the total volume of the combined solid?

We simply have to calculate the volume of each cube them combine them to get the final result.

So, Todd's cube has an edge of 5 inches, so it's volume is 5³ or 5 * 5 * 5 = 125

Todd's cube's volume is 125 cubic inches.

We repeat the process with Kara's cube, which has 3 inches of edges.

Kara's cube's volume is then 3³ or 3 * 3 * 3 = 27 cubic inches.

Kara's cube's volume is 27 cubic inches.

Total volume: 125 + 27 = 152 cubic inches.
