A study of a population of 1,500 dogs revealed that 15 out of every 125 dogs in the
population have spots on their back. Based on the results of this study, how many dogs in the population do NOT have spots on their back?

out of all the 1,500 dogs, 1320 do NOT have spots.

Explanation:

we can start by dividing 1500 by 125 to find out how many times you can fit 125 into 1500. This happens to be 12. now we multiply 15 by 12 since thats how many dogs per group have spots. that will equal 180. since we are looking for the dogs that don't have spots, if we subtract 180 from 1500, we will get the remaining 1320 that do not have spots.
