A bakery has a fixed cost of $119.75 per day plus $2.25 for each pastry. The bakery was like to keep its daily cost at or below $500 per day. Which inequality shows the maximum number of pastries, p, that can be baked each day?

Answer:

169 is the max number of pastries

Explanation:

each pastry costs 2.25, so that will be the coefficient to p

inequality:

2.25p+119.75≤500

solve:

2.25p+119.75-199.75≤500-119.75(subtract 119.75 from both sides)

2.25≤300.25

divide by 2.25 on both sides

2.25p/2.25≤300.25/2.25

p≤169

hope this helps
