Multiply 9 by 1 and add it to 7/

16/9 ÷ 4/5.

Now here is a shortcut, flip 4/5 into 5/4 and turn the ÷ into × to balance the equation.

You get 16/9 × 5/4

16 × 5 = 80

9 × 4 = 36

80/36 is 2 and 2/9
