Homeostasis is the ability for the body to maintain the internal and external conditions in a certain range that allows the body to continue to be healthy. For example, if the weather is cold, homeostasis will occur that would make you shiver, which is the body's way of trying to warm itself up. If it is too hot, homeostasis would be active in releasing sweat, which is water that is used to remove excessive heat from inside the body.
