10x^2+3x-4

Explanation:


(-40x^3-12x^2+16x)/(-4x)

To find the quotient we divide each term by -4x


(-40x^3)/(-4x) =10x^2

Negative and negative becomes positive.


(-12x^2)/(-4x) =3x


(-16x)/(-4x) =-4


(-40x^3-12x^2+16x)/(-4x)=10x^2+3x-4
