Answer:

Two sides are 7.4 x 9.6

Two sides are 9.6 x 2.5 - Take these answers and multiply by 2 for all of them Two sides are 2.5 x 7.4 Shown Below-

2(7.4 x 9.6) = 142.08

2(9.6 x 2.5) = 48

2(2.5 x 7.4) = 37

142.08 + 48 + 37 = 227.08 square inches <------------------------- Final answer

Hope this helps

Answer:

227.08\ in^(2) of cardboard are needed

Explanation:

we know that

The surface area of the rectangular prism ( cereal box) is equal to

SA=2B+PH

where

B is the area of the base

P is the perimeter of the base

H is the height of the cereal box

Find the area of the base B

B=(7.4)(2.5)=18.5\ in^(2)

we have

H=9.6\ in

Find the perimeter of the base P

P=2(7.4+2.5)=19.8\ in

substitute the values

SA=2(18.5)+(19.8)(9.6)=227.08\ in^(2)
