The quadratic equation is y = -0.163*(x + 2)*(x - 4.6)

How to write the equation?

If a parabola has a leading coefficient a, and has roots at x = h and x= k, then the equation can be written as:

y = a*(x - h)*(x - k)

Here the roots are:

x = -2

x = 4.6

Then we can write:

y = a*(x + 2)*(x - 4.6)

We can see that it passes through (0, 1.5)

then:

1.5 = a*(0 + 2)*(0 - 4.6)

1.5 = -9.2*a

(-1.5/9.2) = a

-0.163 = a

The quadratic is:

y = -0.163*(x + 2)*(x - 4.6)
