Susie is an organic vegetable grower. The perimeter of her rectangular vegetable garden is 72 yards. The width of the vegetable garden is 9 yards. How long is her vegetable garden

I tried it and got 33 but my friend said it’s 20 something so if someone could step by step explain this, that’s help a lot!! ❤️

Since all sides add up to perimeter we do this equation!

Simplify: 18+2x=72

Subtract 18 from both sides

2x=54

/2 /2

x=27 yards

Double Check: 9 yd + 9yd + 27yd + 27yd = 72yd
