i think its the "motives of possible suspects based on information from the victims wife"

THIS IS HOW IT WORKED BACK THEN!!: they would First likely examine the bullet and then find out what gun model it belongs to then they would find the registered list of everyone with that gun and link possible suspects based off of that (which are related to the victim) thus would be looking for the killer based off of the victims life so the only option i see fit is the on i put in bold above ........ this is just my opinion though!
